Delicious malai cheeni toast made with only 3 ingredients! This sugary and creamy snack is made with thick slices of toasted bread which are topped with malai or fresh cream and lots and lots of sugar. Trust me, this is the ultimate snack for any time of the day.

What is malai cheeni toast?

Malai Cheeni Toast is quite a popular snack in India. The word “malai” means cream and “cheeni” means sugar. Both malai and cheeni are topped on toasted bread slices. It’s such a simple and yet amazing snack.

To make this toast, you’ll need the following ingredients:

Bread: You can use any kind of bread for this recipe. White, brown, multigrain etc. But it tastes best with white bread. Here I have used homemade white bread. And I have taken thick slices of this bread. Because when you toast thick slices of bread, the top becomes crisp and the centre remains soft. That is what we are looking for in this recipe. So try to get a loaf of bread and cut thick slices.

Malai or fresh cream: In this recipe, I have used store-bought fresh cream (Amul Fresh Cream). But if you have ghar ki malai then use that instead.

Sugar: You can use any type of sugar, granulated or castor. Here I have used granulated sugar.

How to make malai cheeni toast at home?

Every time I have this toast, it reminds me of my childhood days. A sugary, soulful and comforting snack. To make this at home, toast the slices of bread on tawa or toaster until they are crisp. Then pour chilled fresh malai over it and top it with a generous sprinkle of sugar. And they are ready to serve.
