Kesar Masala Chai Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1- inch ginger
  • 1- inch cinnamon stick
  • 3 green cardamom
  • 3 cloves
  • 6 black peppercorns
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 tbsp tea leaves
  • 10-12 strands of saffron/kesar
  • 5 tsp sugar
  • 2 cups milk

Instructions
 

  • Add ginger, cinnamon stick, green cardamoms, cloves, and peppercorns into a mortar and pestle. Coarsely grind them.
  • Heat water in a saucepan over a high flame. Add tea leaves, crushed spices and kesar. Boil for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Pour sugar and milk. Stir it well and continue to boil for 1 to 2 minutes. Turn the heat off.
  • Strain the chai. Then pour it into kulhads/tea cups. Garnish with kesar.
  • Kesar masala chai is ready to serve!
