Prep Time: 2 min | Cook Time: 10 min | Total Time: 12 min

Serves: 2-3 people

Ingredients:

1-inch ginger

1-inch cinnamon stick

3 green cardamom

3 cloves

6 black peppercorns

2 cups water

4 tbsp tea leaves

10-12 strands of saffron/kesar

5 tsp sugar

2 cups milk

Instructions:

Add ginger, cinnamon stick, green cardamoms, cloves, and peppercorns into a mortar and pestle. Coarsely grind them. 

Heat water in a saucepan over a high flame. Add tea leaves, crushed spices and kesar. Boil for 3 to 4 minutes.

Pour sugar and milk. Stir it well and continue to boil for 1 to 2 minutes. Turn the heat off.

Strain the chai. Then pour it into kulhads/tea cups. Garnish with kesar.

Kesar masala chai is ready to serve!
