Brown rice is whole grain rice which is highly nutritious, healthy and helps in digestion. It is rich in thiamine, vitamin B and iron. To cook brown rice, soak it in water for a few minutes. This helps in reducing the cooking time. Then boil the rice until fully cooked. So go ahead and try this recipe today. Serve it with your favourite curry.

Serves: 2 people
Ingredients:
- 1 cup brown rice, I have used Dawat brown rice
- 4 cups water
Cooking Directions:
Wash and rinse the brown rice. Then soak it in 1 cup water for 15 minutes.
Add 3 cups water in a pot and heat it over a high flame. As soon as it comes to a boil, add the rice and give it a gentle stir. Once it comes to a rolling boil, lower the flame to medium and allow it to simmer for 15 minutes.
Check the rice by pressing a grain with your fingers. If it’s fully cooked, drain the rice with the help of a colander. Allow it to sit in the colander for 5 minutes and then serve.
Serve this fluffy and non-sticky brown rice with curries like kosha mangsho or chickpea tikka masala.
