Serves: 2-3 people

Ingredients:

½ cup masoor dal

2-3 cloves of garlic

1-inch ginger

2 green chillies

1 large onion, thinly sliced

Handful of chopped coriander leaves

½ tsp kalonji or nigella/onion seeds

Salt to taste

Instructions:

Rinse and soak masoor dal in water for 3-4 hours.

Drain the water.

Grind masoor dal, garlic, ginger, and green chillies to a coarse paste.

Transfer to a bowl. Add onion, coriander leaves, kalonji, and salt. Mix well.

Heat oil in a wok over a medium flame.

Deep fry the pakodas until golden brown in colour.

Serve hot with fried green chillies and coriander curd chutney.
