So if you are looking for a kala chana recipe, then give this a try. Think of it like a sandwich made with kala chana chaat/salad. It’s spicy, tangy, creamy and very tasty.
To make this, add boiled kala chana/black chickpeas to a bowl and coarsely mash them. You can also use kabuli chana or white chickpeas if you like.
Then add chopped onion, mayo, a little salt and achar. I have used aam ka achar/mango pickle. You can also use garlic or mixed pickle if you like.
Then just combine everything together. Spread it over a slice of bread. Top with another slice. Brush oil. Cook until golden and crispy.
You can use any kind of sandwich maker. I have used an electric sandwich maker. You can also use a grill sandwich maker or a non-electric gas toast maker.
