Learn how to make an omelette in a mug in the microwave with this easy recipe. If you are looking for a quick breakfast or an evening/midnight snack recipe with egg then you need to try this! Trust me it is the easiest cheese omelette you will ever make.
This omelette is soft, buttery and so cheesy! And the chopped spring onions and chicken sausage give an amazing flavour to the eggs. You can have it for breakfast or a quick lunch or snack. It is so filling and delicious that it will leave you satisfied for many hours.
Why should you try this microwave omelette recipe?
Saves Time: This is a very simple and quick recipe. You just have to add all the ingredients into a mug and cook until the egg firms up.
Easy Clean-Up: To make this omelette you will only need a mug, a spoon and a fork. You won’t be needing any pan, spatula, serving plate etc. Thus you’ll have fewer dishes to clean later on.
Easily Customisable: Here I have shared a cheese omelette with chicken sausage recipe. But you can easily customise it as per your liking. You can replace the chicken sausage with ham or bacon. And if you don’t want to add cheese then you can leave that out or instead of adding processed cheese you can add cheddar/parmesan into this omelette. You can also add chopped onion, bell pepper, tomato, mushroom, spinach etc.
How to cook eggs/omelette in a microwave?
Cooking eggs in a microwave is very easy. For this, you just have to keep the following things in mind.
Mug: I have used a 300ml ceramic microwavable mug in this recipe. If you are using a smaller mug, then adjust the quantity of the ingredients accordingly.
If you don’t want to make it in a mug, then you can also use a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave: Always keep in mind that every microwave is different. I have made this recipe in a 900W microwave. So check the wattage before you try this recipe. If you have a 1200W microwave then it will take less time to cook.
Time: Cooking time depends upon the ingredients, microwave and the shape of the mug you are using. So I will suggest you cook the eggs in 30 seconds or 1-minute intervals. And after each interval, take the mug out of the microwave, give it a stir and then cook again until it is fully cooked. Avoid overcooking, as the eggs will become tough/hard.
