Baked Jalapeno Poppers | Cheese Stuffed Bhavnagri Chillies
Baked jalapeno poppers are the best appetizers ever! They are super creamy, spicy and crispy. Stuffed with paneer, mozzarella cheese, jalapeno dip and topped with crushed cheese nachos. Believe me, they are the perfect snack for any occasion.
To make these bite-sized treats at home, you will need just a few ingredients and a few simple steps. Just assemble all the chillies, fill them with the cheese mixture, then bake them until the top gets golden. Sprinkle crushed nachos over the top. It adds a beautiful crunch to this dish. Baked jalapeno poppers are ready to serve.
How to cut the jalapeno peppers:
Slice the jalapeno peppers in half (lengthwise). Don’t forget the wear gloves while cutting them as they can burn your skin. Then remove all the seeds. Place them over a baking tray.
Jalapeno Poppers Without Jalapeno:
But if you can’t find jalapeno peppers then you can use bhavnagri chillies or any other thick chillies. Here I have used bhavnagri chillies. These are a special variety of Indian chillies which hails from Bhavnagar, Gujrat.
Jalapeno popper filling:
Now you can fill the peppers with any ingredient of your choice. Like meat, veggies, cream cheese, cheddar, mushroom etc. The possibilities are endless. Here I have not filled them with cream cheese. Instead of that, I have stuffed them with a mixture of paneer, mozzarella cheese and a cheese-jalapeno dip. Paneer is a kind of non-melting Indian cottage cheese. And the dip that I used is from the brand Veeba. It gives a beautiful jalapeno flavour to the filling. I have not added any salt or pepper to this filling, but if you like then you can season it as per your liking.
